Revie Jane, Clay & Lexington – Family Storytelling Session | Gold Coast |
A few months ago Revie Jane touched base with me as she was looking for a new lifestyle business session and also a motherhood shoot to catch the last months of her little one and their nursing journey together.
We kicked off this family storytelling session at 5.30am. Nice and early so we could capture morning snuggles, feeds in bed and the morning rhythm as the sun came up. I love these kind of sessions. So intimate and so real. Full of beautifully ordinary moments that make up a family and all that they love.
Lexington decided that she didn’t want to feed much at all during the session and was far more interested in running around and clutching her bottle. It can be such a sad experience when our babies push us away and take that next step to becoming that bit more independent. I felt like I had lost a part of me when my babies stopped feeding. For a year they were attached to me and needed me so much to find comfort and then in the space of a week it changed and there was so little time to adjust and take in the end of that bond with them.
I’ve come to learn that there are always new beautiful things that emerge. They don’t look the same as the last season but they too will fade and change with time so treasuring each of them and never taking them for granted is so important.
