Over a glass of wine one night, a beautiful friend threw out the idea that I should meet her in LA as she was going to be over there for work. I had never thought of actually leaving my kiddies and heading off on a holiday without them but when I floated the idea by my hubby and he was super supportive of me going, we locked it in!

I haven’t ventured overseas for ten years because life just got a little busy raising our three babies and running our businesses so a child-free girls trip around California kind of felt like a dream! The trip was amazing and of course, an hour after I was home it felt like I had never left, that’s kids for ya!

At least I have a ton of images and the best memories of the days we had to sleep in, explore, read, eat delicious food, drink margaritas, op shop, hike, celeb spot, shop and just be us without the mama tag. It was pretty liberating. Of course, I missed my little ones like crazy and that first hour of cuddles when I returned was the best but going away, refuelling and feeling a little more me again was something pretty special.

I travelled with one of my besties, Britt, who runs an amazing elopement company, The Elopement Collective. Most of the images of me were captured by her, the rest are my own work.

Here is a little look at our adventure!
